The Harbinger is our first centrifugal supercharger kit. It is an modern take to an affordable and reliable high performance option for M5x and S5x engines. For enthusiasts who want a compact, readily available and affordable HB-1 / P2 Centrifugal Supercharger rated at 1150CFM.

Developed in house by K.C. Design Concepts from 2020 and finally released in 2023. The Harbinger being a Centrifugal belt driven Supercharger, the boost starts to build from the mid RPM range and continues to build up to the higher RPM range, while it allows for a cooler charge temperature.

The Harbinger works with the stock engine manifold with support for all BMW 6-cylinder M5x & S5x type engines as: M50NV/M52/M54/S50*/S52/S54* FOUND in a range of different BMW series of cars.

Description

The Harbinger Supercharger Kits

The Harbinger Supercharger Kit is designed to be used on the BMW M50, M52, M54, S50, S52, S54 Engines and includes all hardware and basic pipe work you require to bolt on the supercharger and get it running with the engine.

The kit itself is based on a P2 centrifugal dry unit with no lubrication required, produced under Speedmaster Australia. The HB 1 / P2 is a readily available affordable supercharger rated at 1150CFM max and some 55,000 RPM from the manufacturer. Our custom machined COG pulley and belt, drives the supercharger itself while maintaining a fixed ratio, limiting the supercharger to 30,500 RPM.*

This setup will work for both stock and built engines. While a built engine will be able to handle more power, on a stock engine, we suggest limiting the boost to 10 PSI, using a boost controller and a bypass valve.  The Air conditioner, Alternator, Power Steering or any other belt driven accessories are not affected by it.

The Supercharger unit is included only if you select the option Harbinger kit + HB-1 / P2 Supercharger.
If you want to only buy the supercharger then please order the supercharger separately.

To complete the installation on any of the setups, you will also require the following additional parts:

  • HB 1 / Speedmaster P2 Centrifugal Supercharger
  • an Intercooler Kit (for high boost) or Silicone Pipe Kit and hose clamps (for low boost)
  • vacuum hose
  • LF30 power steering pump and pulley from M52 or M54 engines
  • an air filter
  • larger injectors
  • a boost gauge and
  • ECU Software

All parts mentioned above can be provided by us on request, at extra costs.

NOTES:

The Harbinger kit supports only the HB-1 / P2 unit, which is the Speedmaster P2 Centrifugal Supercharger (MPN: PCE157.1002).
Warranty on Supercharger 6 Months, any issues after this time frame must be done only through the manufacturer.
